We are aware of the discussion and understand the concerns following several incidents in the past day in which alerts from the Home Front Command app did not appear for everyone, and the siren was either not heard or was heard only faintly.

It is important for us to clarify several key points:

 

Why do some residents receive an alert in the Home Front Command app while others do not?
Alerts in the Home Front Command app are based on two parameters:

 

1. The geographic location of the device on which the app is installed.
2. The specific locality for which you requested to receive alerts.

 

When there is a siren in a nearby area, the system may identify devices located near the boundaries of that area and trigger an alert, even if the device is not within the locality itself.
Therefore, some residents may receive an alert while others may not.

 

Why did I hear a faint siren?
If you heard a faint siren, it means the sirens belong to nearby communities such as **Emmanuel, Yakir, Nofim, and Revava**.
All sirens are functioning properly and have been checked by a Home Front Command inspector.

 

No siren was heard but interception sounds were heard in the area
It is important to emphasize that the interception sounds being heard are **not in our area**. Although they may sound close, they are actually far away, and therefore no alert is triggered.

 

What is the current status?
We are working with the Home Front Command to improve the alert system in order to prevent unnecessary entry into protected spaces.
As stated above, the sirens in the community are functioning properly. In the event of a real siren for **Karnei Shomron**, the sirens will be activated and an alert will appear in the Home Front Command app specifically for **Karnei Shomron** (not just “in your area”).

*In any such event (even if alerts are received only on some phones), the council will send notifications instructing residents to enter and exit protected spaces.*

In any case of doubt, enter a protected space and do not take risks.
